I missed being here and I missed home with all my creature comforts, although coming back has had a touch of bad news as well. Anzu and I have spent some time in Kyoto for an article on the 'nishijin' textiles and the kimono show. Nisijin means 'west camp' and was once a large area of the city but today its just several floors of one single building a block away from the old palace. Interest in this traditional area of clothing and weaving craftsmanship has grown exponentially over that last four years and like predators chasing prey, we're on it!
I came home for the weekend and found a nice little message from blogger asking that I please don't link in music downloads. So I have had to remove that. I also had an interview with someone at work regarding what I actually write here on my own blog and although I am not actually edited here there are some things that I find would reflect badly on me and also some things that I should not give too much detail about.
I have apologized and the offending post has been removed.
I really do need to check the small print sometimes.
Disappointingly I had thought that here I rested in comfort under the shade of the willow tree with Athena and that the 'helm of hades' blessed me.
So how do we put a smile back on a saddened face?
I paid a visit to Maestro and had him trim my hair.
It's not just the snip of the scissors and his comb through my hair. It's also his warmth and attention and him wanting to make me feel good as much as I want it.
Do tears only take shape if someone can see them?
They sparkle like diamonds in sunlight and run to hide in the past.
The past is manipulated to suit the present.
The future is vague with plans and hopes.
Do I only find myself in the love of another?
How many times will I find myself?
Petals line the path of the bird seeking her cage.
Broken dreams and torn letters.
Empty plates and whispers silenced.
The pain of loss and the vulnerability of truth assail me.
The desire to hold you made more so by your loss.
Like stars that play up there in the darkness...
The jazz never dies despite the blues lament.
Don't you wanna move and shake that thing?
I lie in a place between the soft kiss of ecstasy and the searing pain of jealousy

Did I miss you? I cannot speak for all your other avid followers Momo, but as for myself I can say I missed you like a flower during a drought misses the cool thirst relieving drops of rain.
I know it has been a while since I have been on and I have been remiss in my postings and in keeping up with you, I ask your forgiveness in this matter.
Later...

February 19, 2009 12:57 PMI've been eagerly awaiting your return. It's good to see that you are making the most out of your life, let it be work or leisure. I'm looking forward to hearing more about your adventures during the past one week.
Did I miss you?
Well, I'm not good at playing around with words and I'm certainly not poetic by nature. So simply put...
I missed you like crazy!
Welcome back Momo.
