Maybe tomorrow

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness and it was a time of work and finally a time to relax. She'd spent a couple of days in Kobe doing her thing with light and magic and cameras and I came home with a peppermint smile.

Late on Thursday afternoon, I made a meal of fried sardines with aburaage tofu puffs in a grated yamaimo taro butter batter with a stir fry of celery and beef. I used green beans and tomato in ginger and sesame sauce as a side dish and added a mashed salt plum to make the dressing. I knew that only the two of us were eating yet I made enough to feed three. She is usually quite hungry after her excursions to distant parts. She came home a little after I'd finished preparing the meal and I had sat down with the TV news and an ice cool beer. She came in saying that she was so hungry she could eat me as I kissed her welcome home. She went and washed quickly as I put the plates on the dining room table and served dinner. It was almost a casual aplomb that I sat picking at mine whilst watching her as she ate ravenously and after she'd emptied her plate and I might add, most of the side dish too, I served her what was left from the kitchen. She had a stunning appetite and she lay waste to both servings as if it were no more than a light snack and then she sat back almost reluctantly as her eyes fell on my as yet unfinished meal.

"There is some rice and miso-soup left over from this morning if you are interested" I joked.
"Yes please." She eagerly nodded.
She made herself a drink, while I was still on the beer and finishing up my own meal. I seemed to have lost my appetite recently and was finding it difficult to eat everything but she was more than making up for it. I left a little on my plate saying my tummy was full, I really wasn't hungry at all and I got up to get another beer and to warm the rice and soup. When I came back through into the dining room my plate was empty! I looked up at her and after licking her lips she gave me that silly but lovable smile that I like so much!
We sat with our drinks for ten minutes and she said she hadn't eaten a proper meal really since yesterday breakfast time. Work had been intensive for her but that was no excuse. She'd had the breaks in which to eat but she hadn't felt like eating anything more than a cereal bar or rice crackers and perhaps have a drink.
I served up the rice and miso in a goodly portion and she sat to eat. I sat opposite nursing my third beer and she ate and told me between mouthfuls of her adventures in Kobe.
After she'd eaten most of her meal, she stood up and I thought at last I have filled the yawning chasm of your hungry tummy. She went over to the refrigerator and took out a soda. She also spied some potato salad in there and brought that back to the table and added a healthy portion to what was left of her meal.
The way that she demolished it made me think of the movie title 'Gone in 60 seconds.'
"Mmm that was good," she said rubbing her tummy, "My compliments to the chef." she smiled.
As the cook I was of course gratified. I hope she does not have intestinal worms!
I shall also monitor her next clothes sizes that she buys.
Her tummy was making loud gurgling sounds, "I think it's a boy!" She giggled.
I laughed at her and said that I was going to have a slice of chocolate cake that I'd bought from the 7-11 across the road.
"Shall I cut you a piece?"
She sat back and rested her head gazing at the ceiling, still slowly rubbing her tummy.
"No thanks Mo, maybe tomorrow" she whispered.
I went and cut myself a small slice. I really do love chocolate and I couldn't resist buying this treat when I was shopping earlier for our dinner.
She sneaked up behind me, "Oohh that does look good, I think I will have a slice after all."
She cut for herself a whole quarter. It's almost impossible to eat such a large piece as that in such a seductive manner but she managed to pull it off somehow.
"Still want to eat me?" I asked inspired by such a vision.
We brushed our teeth with our new 'Puro ultrasonic brushes and went to bed.
She really does have a healthy appetite!

We finally made time away from all of our schedules to go out together on Friday evening. Aya's sister came down from Sapporo and since we hadn't seen Aya for a while...
What other excuse do we need for a night out?
Teddy almost came too
