The world continually spins around its attractive star and perhaps could notice the seasonal changes along its orbital path but perhaps it would remain unaware of the way humans measure time. As we all in our time zones, one by one, released our fireworks and declared our midnight point on December 31 a new year and a new beginning, the Earth rotated and proceeded further into space.
Don't you just love time?
It's simply one dimensional really and you can comfortably specify that the party happened last Saturday as a time location whereas you need three separate co-ordinates to specify a point in Euclidean space.
Has it been a week already?
We had our New Year party at the Mars and perhaps for the first time in as long as I can remember did not watch "Kohaku Uta Gassen", which is our traditional red and white song battle on TV. The girls are the red team and the boys are the white team and for as long as Hitomi and I have been together, the white team has won.
Looking at the images that I post with this blog you may notice that Hitomi wears the red and I wear the white. This in no way means that I could possibly represent any 'male side'. In fact I didn't notice it until I was reading it to Hitomi and she pointed out the coincidence. I noticed that despite a good foundation and liberal use of concealer, the puffy eyes from too many late nights and early mornings' shows on both of our faces.

Instead of having the TV for company we partied with the girls and danced and kissed like there was no tomorrow. I really am torn between which scenario I should have attended. Last year we helped out in the restaurant and the show was on the TV for our customers. This year we had the full compliment of staff and when Ma invited us up for her end of year party there really was no competition.
I am not torn at all!
I am very glad that we did do something different this year and not succumb to 'usual' routines.
I was actually working at the agency on New Years day and then back to the office on Monday morning.
This year I am going to be matter of fact and down to earth and be less whimsical.
Is this a New Year resolution you may ask. I think I have outgrown the desire to wait until the New Year starts before I say I am going to do this, this, this and that. I'll just decide on something if and as it occurs to me or the need presents itself. This year I did not go to the temple and pray or take any prophesy. This was mainly due to my working the next morning but you never know, this time next year it could all change back.
I know that this year is going to bring changes, each year does. I just hope that the changes will be for the better although I know I have to have a couple of mountains too.
