 Photographs and flowers part two:
Tea for three.

The two week exhibition came to an end on Sunday night after three weeks, the delay being the temporary closure of the tea-house gallery when we had the typhoon warning. Hitomi, Nia and I arrived in the early evening to find quite a crowd. Most of them of course were regulars but there were some artists, art marketers, fellow photographers and even a representative from the Tomio Koyama Galleries (they deal with Yoko Ono amongst others) amongst the crowd.

The three of us sat on a couch and watched everyone milling around and perhaps taking it all in for the last evening. A new exhibition will start later in the month. I would have liked something a little stronger than the soft drinks but it's not that kind of place or indeed that kind of crowd despite a hint or two on my part to get a few laughs and create a relaxing ambiance.

Hitomi's had a few sales from this exhibition but more importantly her work has been seen and written about which gets a little limelight pointed in her direction. She stood and made a speech thanking the teahouse owners and the event organizers and everyone for their good work and their contributions. It has done her reputation a power of good. Once everyone saw how much of a giggly mood she was in, a few funny remarks were offered by the now almost unruly crowd to encourage her to laugh. Despite this she managed to say her piece and bring the exhibition to an official close.
