That's how long it has been since my last post.
Sorry for the delays - as a busy Mother, home-maker, lover, sister, (I think blogger comes somewhere low on that list unfortunately) I have have to wear many hats and I have been kept fairly busy.
Please forgive me.
Yuka and Miyu-chan had some wonderful shoots last week and I hope to make a new album for some of their work over the weekend.
Eyes were on the typhoon out in the Pacific last week. It smashed into Okinawa on Saturday.
Saturday night saw Hitomi and I having a few drinks and sharing time with old friends up at the Mars and unusually, Ma had the TV switched onto the news channel and it played quietly behind the bar. Perhaps not many were interested to see cars flying across car parks but I think it did go silent for a moment and eyes turned towards it as soon as predicted path updates were shown.
Would it hit us or miss us and swing over into Korea or China?
On Sunday morning the sun was shining and some of the birds were singing (if not all) and a good hot breakfast had us feeling wonderful. We ventured up into the park where we'd shot Yuka and Miyu last week and Hitomi found a willing model in me.
The Angels read their book for a while and then practiced their dance steps - they have a new recital coming up soon and they like to be precise.
Just after Hitomi had taken a few hurried shots we all became aware of a sudden chill despite the autumn sunshine. Noon approached as we drove home planning to stop in Shinjuku for lunch. Watching the skies grow very dark was like watching time lapse photography as it seemed to happen so quickly and the radio announced the imminent tropical storm warning.
We forgot about eating out and headed for home as quickly as possible. The wind driven rain wasn't far in front of us and it hit us just as we reached Gaien Higashi road, almost halfway there. The policeman in his blue oilskins at the junction police box was pulling down the shutters over his windows for protection. I think he was going to whether the storm in his little office. Driving became painfully slow for the last couple of miles even on the normally quick Aoyama expressway.
The traffic was lighter than usual, I suppose most people stayed at home and it seemed the smaller cars huddled close to the large trucks as if they offered some kind of protection. Visibility was a shadowy dreadful grey as the wipers on full speed couldn't keep the wind shield clear for a second, so heavy and driving was the relentless rain. Finally we pulled into our sheltered car park which allowed us home safe and dry.
After hot drinks for everyone I made us all a spicy Thai style beef noodles for our late lunch as we watched the rain crash into our windows and we listened to the winds howl outside.
