License to thrill

Hitomi had her birthday anniversary on Sunday.
She was working away all that day and so we at home celebrated her special day on the Saturday.
Lucky girl she is having her birthday a day early!

We went shopping and the Angels bought her a new hat after I'd told them that she liked one that she'd seen in 'Anna Marin' really very much.
Hitomi was very pleased and gave them both a hug.
Then after buying a few more items, more than we had anticipated we all ate out at the Taiwanese noodle bar and finally with tummies happy and full we went to sing at the karaoke bar with the milk-shakes flowing freely.
The angels had Rina look after them in the evening whilst Hitomi and I went up to the Mars for our semi regular visit to our favorite watering hole in the city. Hitomi had a few more cards given her but everyone was really happy to see her since we don't appear there every Saturday like we did in days past with all of our old routines that we used to enjoy.
All things change!

I took the opportunity of a lull in my schedules to go renew my driving license this week.
It expires on the 18th of this month!
It is good practise to go earlier that deadline day just in case any problems arise. Thankfully I had none!
Well to say that I am a few years older now and my hair is a little bit longer (but not greyer) than it was with my old favorite 'bob' - I really think that I look younger these days than I did in the old license image taken of me in 2008.
This is when I needed to replace my license after I accidentally shredded it at my old office.

Incidentally my birth date that appears above my photo does not mean 17 August 1955 (I'd be 57 years old and I'd look really good for that huh?) It means the 55th year of the Showa period - the reign of his Imperial Majesty Emperor Hirohito (1926 (year 1) until {Jan 07}1989 (year 64)).
The present Heisei period began the next day and this year, 2012 is the 24th year of this period.
In case you have no calculator or run out of fingers to count on - year 55 was 1980 (laughs jokingly).

  2. Thank you Tigger ... you say all the right things.
My secret is good diet, good exercize, cleaning the skin regularly and if there is any possibility of you not seeing my official documents - then lie about my age!

Happy birthday to you and also to Nancy - you both have a birthday this week too.
