A private blog isn't what I really want and as you may imagine, someone with my outgoing nature and someone in my profession quite likes the idea of my words reaching anyone capable of accessing the internet and browsing my way.
But I like the idea of a privacy option too.
The beauty of this script routine is that I can have a different "key word" for every time I use it in different posts. This means that if I allow 'reader A' access to encrypted post one - but I don't want 'reader A' to read encrypted post two - all I do is use another key-word.
Yes my blog is open to all but sometimes, just sometimes... I'd like the ability to make private some posts. These could be posts that would be for regular readers or a selected group of my choosing. I don't know how that makes everyone feel, it may make some feel good if they are a part of that group with access but how do they feel if suddenly excluded?
I can only say sorry if you would take offense at that. It wouldn't be a regular feature but I do like to have this option, as a tool, should I ever feel the need.
The encrypted part of this post is simply about me on-line shopping and looking for something for my trip to the beach - back in Kansai I need inspiration of a fashionable kind. bikini
But it's just for test purposes.
I am fine with such a feature in your blog.
I wouldn't take offense if I was not allowed to view a certain post.
But how would we request for the "keyword"? is it through email or by asking here?

August 12, 2010 10:26 PMThat is a very good point Tiger and one I failed to address in my post. I imagine that when in future days you suddenly see a blog that says "Show encrypted text" then I will state underneath just who may apply for a keyword.
It may very well say "regular readers only" and I won't mind if here or in mail but I would prefer mail because that's how I would send back a key word.
