Many business have collapsed and our very way of life is starting to collapse at the edges and I am running around like everything is fine in my little world and it is all there just for me! That's mainly what Dad told me.
Actually he said it much nicer than that but he did pull away the emotion and present it more like a business plan about objectives and routes to achieving them. It is not about throwing away all you have worked for. The structure and order we have right now is like the boat I mentioned in my analogy in my last post but Dad said what I'm planning is like jumping into the sea and swimming towards where I think an island lies.
Yes I was reckless in my thought and I've since discussed it with Hitomi and I think she and I need a new plan even if she pretends that she has been made the villain. This is not a barrier to her dream or her ambition but we really need to approach it from a different angle. The angle of an angel perhaps!
There was a brief outburst of disappointment from her and also one from me but she agrees that we need to plan properly because that way her dream will have the best chance of success.
I feel more relieved now that Dad allowed not only me to see the impetuousness and the disadvantages of impatience I had about it but I really allowed myself the delusion from the lack of reflection and was drawn in blindly.
But I said I was uncomfortable didn't I?
I don't say that like I was a better person than I sometimes present myself. There are times that we are carried away by a stream's intensity quite easily and I let my dreams carry me into flights of fancy. I shall consider myself fortunate that I have people in my life like my dear father who is able to anchor my feet to the ground.
This topic and episode will not be forgotten. It will just be readdressed and formulated into a viable plan.
Fools rush in where angels fear to tread!

I like your Dad's point of view. Proably my mom would say exactly the same to my in situation like yours. Equanimity and logical reflection should help. I hope when you sit down with Hitomi for a while, start think about possible solutions and every consequences of all of them I quess you'll see daylight :) I know that talk with your Father couldn't be nice for you, becouse nobody doesn't like hear that our behaviour are bad and irregular. But I think you know that somethimes we need something like that, cold shower can help awake from false and unattainable dreams, so then we will not disappointed later. I'm glad you have support in your Dad, I would probably go to my mom, becouse she always wants divide with me her long life experiences :)
You will achieve what you want, I'm sure about that and you have mental support in me!

March 23, 2009 2:52 AMyour dad's point is very realistic. today's economic is very important after displacement. sometime partners dream can put a whole lot of stress onto decision making along with sacrifices. people might think money(economic) is a shallow thinking but it is important you find a base that is solid enough in case your roots are weakened . just hope you can balance everything out with hitomi. shin

March 23, 2009 6:08 AMI have to agree with your father's point view. I've been brought up believing that every single advice and suggestion our elders/parents offer us are valuable. Although there may be times when we strongly appose to their opinions or thoughts, but I believe that whatever they may have suggested to us is usually for our own good and benefit.
Take your time and discuss the pros and cons of moving with Hitomi. You need a stable and realistic plan to make this work.
Good luck to you. Hope you guys will come up with a plan that will benefit both of you.
Happy week!

March 23, 2009 8:14 PMIt is said that behind a great person there is someone greater. With your guidance and support I think the dreams you have for yours and Hitomi's life can become a reality. We all get "washed" away in a river of excitement where the imagination takes control and you find yourself lost in the emotion of your dreams. But I also know you and I know you are not given to flights of fancy so easily, sooner or later you would have sat back and considered the various reactions to those actions and found on your own what is best. We all look for guidance and another's point of view, who no better than a father to seek out answers to questions or for direction. They give their advice out of love, experience and wisdom and the desire to see their progeny succeed and excel beyond their dreams they had.
We all have jumped into the water without realizing its depth or the swiftness of the current as we are being pulled out beyond the reach of reality. But even then, never lose your hope in those dreams or the faith in the one you see those dreams in. They are that "island" that refuge and that tomorrow you dream of that you "swim" toward.
Momo, you have given very good advice in the past based on your experience and wisdom and what I have learned from you I consider priceless. You have that ability to see things that others are blind to and I know without doubt that your feet will stay firmly planted on the ground even though your heart and dreams soar above the clouds. We all have a dream, we all want to see our dreams come true and I feel you have that within you to make those dreams come true. You will know when the time is right, just listen, pay attention and heed when it tells you.
Later...
Ron
